Francis Stuart is a small but growing HMO letting agents based in Plymouth. We look after our properties; we look after our landlords, and we look after 99.9% of our tenants!! It’s that simple.
We only started life at the end of 2018 as we separated from another letting agent so that we could specialise in HMO property management. We currently have just over 300 rooms under management and have experienced extensive growth since we initially established ourselves.
Our properties service three typical tenant markets. Professional/working tenants, contractors tenants and DSS tenants.
At Francis Stuart we’re experts in the HMO Market and invest both time and resources in our properties to ensure they’re presented in their best light, and let to the right tenants. We like to think of every shared house as it’s own eco-system and make sure we tailor our services where possible to each client to make sure we can deal with every unique situation that comes with the territory. When a new landlord approaches us with an existing property we will arrange a visit to the property and produce an appraisal report, advising where we believe the property fits into the current market and any improvements or adaptions that will either ensure the property is compliant, or ensure the property is presented at it’s best for prospective tenants to try and ensure maximum return and happy tenants, making you a happy landlord.

We are highly experienced and knowledgeable in the Plymouth HMO market and know the market inside out. We can help with everything from the right investment locations, to HMO legislation comfortably.
ACQUISITIONS CONSULTANT AND DIRECTOR
Stuart runs the acquisitions service and oversees our larger refurbishment projects. Stuart is Property Mark qualified in Residential Lettings and Property Management with around 15 years experience as a landlord, along with over 10 years experience managing Sales and Lettings Estate Agencies. With years of valuable experience as an entrepreneur, Stuarts expertise is priceless. Stuart is also director of our Guaranteed Rent company Smartlord and Champion Stuart Sales and Lettings.
Paige runs to office on a daily basis, manages our Portfolio Managers, carries out our appraisals, acts as our lead point of contact with Plymouth City Council in relation to HMO Licencing and is our senior port of call for tenants, landlords and contractors. Paige is Property Mark qualified in Residential Lettings and Property Management, has undertaken the NRLA landlord accreditation, and has expierience in residential sales, residential lettings, and property management. Paige has specialised in Shared housing since July 2017 and has yet to come across a house she can’t let or a problem she can’t solve!
HMO Portfolio Manager
In between performing in various Broadway Shows, Ashleigh worked in the property market in Wimbledon, London for 8 years doing everything from general property management to agreeing sales on properties, before returning home to Plymouth. Ashleigh joined Francis Stuart in August 2019 mid-pandemic after continuous growth within the business. Ashleigh manages our portfolio of Guarenteed Rent properties which currently equates to just under 100 units. In her spare time Ashleigh is studying for the Property Mark Level 3 qualification in Residential Lettings and Property Management.
HMO Portfolio manager
After a career in hospitality as a chef for several years, James joined Francis Stuart looking for a new challenge and hit the ground running. James joined Francis Stuart in January 2020 following substantial growth in 2019, manages up to 150 of our units at any one time, and is the first point of contact for both tenants and landlords of his portfolio. James’ skill in letting rooms is arguably unparalleled and he is fondly known as the “letting machine” within our team. In his spare time James is studying for the Property Mark Level 3 qualification in Residential Lettings and Property Management.
